Hi Peachie,
If you still are looking for a few apples recipes or for next years harvest, then here are a couple from our old recipe books.
This is an oldie, but a goodie – if you like ginger
Spiced Apples
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 ½ cups water
2 cups green ginger wine
1 cinnamon stick
1 piece peeled ginger – 2cm
6 cloves
1 lemon rind – thinly peeled
10 green apples – cored and sliced
extra cinnamon stick and cloves
Place sugar, water, green ginger wine, cinnamon stick, ginger and cloves into a saucepan.
Stir over a low heat until sugar dissolves, then boil gently for 10 minutes.
Strain liquid into a saucepan, then add lemon rind and apples.
Cook until the apples are tender.
Add extra cinnamon and cloves.
Pack into sterilised jars.
Seal and label.
